The last action movie I watched was Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City. I watched this movie this week since it just came out in the cinema, where I watched it. I took the image from the trailer, as the movie itself is not yet available on online platforms. Please note that the description of this scene will be a spoiler, so if you are a fan of the Resident Evil movie series and have not yet watched the new movie, then you should watch it at the beginning, I warned you.

This scene is one of the key scenes where shown almost at the very end of the film. In this scene, we see one of the main characters-Leon S Kennedy, played by Avan Jogia. He is dressed in a police uniform, as in the film he is a policeman. If you look at the development of this character in the course of the film, you can see that he grew up as a hero, because initially, he was a worthless policeman who was not even called to general meetings. And as a result, he became a hero and saved everyone who was in the last scene on the train. The moment I photographed, you can notice a confident pose, a tense and focused face and a powerful weapon – a rocket launcher in Leon’s hands. In this excerpt of the film, the scenes change very quickly to demonstrate the tense atmosphere and the present threat to the characters’ lives. There are several camera movements in this scene, such as the Dolly and the Tilt. It’s dark around the hero, it heats the situation. The green colour shows the state of all the characters present in the scene-fear, anger, fright.

The film is based on the plot of a video game about zombies. I think it’s eco-friendly when it comes to gender, race or orientation. For example, the main characters are women and men, they are of different races, and speaking of women, it is worth mentioning that women show the same strength and resilience as men, and in some scenes, their abilities even surpass men’s. The orientation of the characters in this film is not much affected, as there are no scenes with feelings or kisses. One of the articles says that “Even in the most courageous films there are often hints of gay culture, and some of them even feature gay characters.” That is, even without expressing feelings, the viewer can assume that the characters can be of any orientation, no one’s rights are belittled.

There are many violent scenes in this film, this is implied since the film belongs to the action and horror genres. The storyline develops and over time we come to the answer to the question that we asked at the very beginning -what exactly happened to these children and what is happening in this city. The film was released recently, but in a few days, according to Box office Mojo, the film has already collected $ 3,525,000. These are pretty good numbers for a movie released two days ago.

Unfortunately, not all people are feeling good about this genre of films, since violent scenes are very painful for them because the brain does not perceive it as just a movie, it perceives it as reality. Highly susceptible people should not watch this kind of scene. As stated in the article Effects of Humorous Heroes and Villains in Violent Action Films -“Among female viewers, hero wisecracks in an action film increased distressing reactions to the film, but lessened distressing reactions to consequent televised depictions of real, nonhumorous violence.” So the female half of the subjects reacted negatively to the presented scenes of violence, but they did not carry it into life but left it only as an opinion about the film.
